Taking Your Wedding Reception to the Next Level
We have received many compliments from happy couples who rented games for their wedding receptions. Based on our experience, here are a few thoughts on how to integrate arcade games into a wedding:
- Use high quality arcade style games that most people do not have at home. Guests want something with a wow factor.
- Create an area for the games with themed décor. One excellent example is to set up games in the bar area to act as a hang out space for the non-dancers in the crowd. Not everyone can limbo or likes doing the “YMCA” for the umpteenth time.
- Prize cranes/claw machines are very popular right now. We have themed these with specialized gifts. You would be surprised what the claws can be set to pick up!
- Retro arcade games are hot. Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Frogger, among others.
- Sometimes the couple is passionate about a special game. A Big Buck Hunter in the corner may not be the perfect décor accent but for BBH crazed guests, this may be a highlight of the wedding reception.
- If it’s an outdoor reception, yard games like Oversized Connect-4 work well.
