Playland at the State Fair Highlights a Minneapolis-Designed Game
New Space Combat Game at Playland Arcade
American Amusement Arcades (AAA) is pleased to announce the addition of a “made in Minnesota” video game Galactic Battleground to the Minnesota State Fair‘s Playland Arcade.
Designed locally by Slackerz Inc., this retro arcade-inspired game is a space combat experience like no other. Inspired by some of the most celebrated arcade games of the past, Galactic Battleground combines retro and modern elements in competitive multiplayer matches and single-player time trials. Obstacle-filled maps pin two teams, equipped with advantageous power-ups, against each other in space battles until the last team standing is victorious.
“Galactic Battleground is both intuitive and complex. It’s easy to understand and hard to master,” states Miles Mitchell of Slackerz, Inc. “Earn your wings and defend your galaxy, pilots!” Currently, the game is only available at 3 other locations in the Twin Cities.
“It is sure to be a hit at the Fair,” said Tim Zahn of AAA, owner and operator of Playland Arcade. “We’re happy to support local game developers.”

Playland Arcade, located on the corner of Carnes and Nelson at the fairgrounds, also features a great selection of other popular video and redemption games, and offers a variety of prizes for ticket winners. In addition to Galactic Battleground, other hot games for 2018 include Jurassic Park, Lane Master, Ice Man, Tower of Tickets, and Space Invaders Deluxe. The arcade will be open through Labor Day (September 3).
