Management Promotions At Lieberman Companies
Tim Zahn and Jerry Smith, with a combined 67 years at the company, were recently recognized for their accomplishments, contributions, and additional duties.
Zahn assumes the role of Vice President of Operations of Lieberman Companies and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the AAA division. Smith is now Director of Operations for Lieberman Companies.
Tim was recently named First Vice President of Amusement & Music Operators Association (AMOA) at the Amusement Expo International event held in Las Vegas. In this new role, he will be involved in many key decisions for AMOA and its members. Tim also leads AMOA’s Coin-Op Cares, a charitable foundation providing scholarships, educational programming, and more.
Tim has been with AAA for 31 years. He started working for Circus Pizza as a high school junior. Circus Pizza was bought by AAA in 1996. In the early 2000’s, he worked at the Mall of America Arcade which was operated by Lieberman/AAA. Tim was promoted to AAA’s General Manager in 2006 and currently oversees the amusement route operations and plays a key role within industry associations AMOA and Minnesota Operators of Music & Amusements (MOMA). Fun fact: Tim’s teenaged son Owen now works part-time for the route.
Jerry has been promoted to Director of Operations for Lieberman/AAA. He started his career with Advanced Carter (owned by Circus Pizza) in 1985. Two years later, Lieberman’s route operation called Twin City Novelty merged with Advanced Carter. In 1996, Lieberman Companies bought the entire route and moved it to Bloomington, MN. Jerry took over the Lieberman shop which, at the time, dealt with repairs and parts for both vending and amusement equipment. In his new role, Jerry currently manages the day-to-day logistics of the amusement route, ATM repairs and service, and oversees all building maintenance and operations.
“We are lucky to have such dedicated, long-term employees like Tim and Jerry,” said Dan Lieberman, President of AAA. “They bring new ideas and approaches which has helped move our business forward.”
