Elsie’s Place Celebrates 4 Years
May 2018 marks the 4th anniversary of Elsie’s Place gaming cafés
The first Elsie’s Place location opened in May 2014 in Worth, a southern suburb of Chicago. The state of Illinois passed the Video Gaming Act in 2009 which authorized the placement of up to five video gaming terminals (VGTs) in licensed retail establishments. In an effort to combine two areas of expertise – gaming and restaurants – Lieberman Companies developed plans for an enjoyable and relaxing gaming destination with quality menu items. By 2013, the Elsie’s Place concept started to come to life.
“As a fourth generation family-owned business, we wanted that to be reflected in our gaming cafés. That’s one of the reasons they are named after our Grandma Elsie,” says Hal Lieberman, President of Lieberman Companies.
Several Elsie’s Place locations have opened over the last 4 years. The two newest spots are in Elburn, a village about 50 miles west of downtown Chicago, and in Prospect Heights which opened earlier this month.
June Celebration at Worth
To commemorate the occasion, Elsie’s Place Worth will host an anniversary celebration the first weekend in June. Elsie’s Place Worth is located at 6901 W 111th Street.
