AAA Players Win At 2019 MOMA Darts
On January 24-27, 2019, the Minnesota Operators of Music & Amusements (MOMA) held their 34th Annual State Dart Tournament at Canterbury Park. Several American Amusement Arcades (AAA) league players competed against other dart players across Minnesota.
Winning Teams from AAA Leagues
AAA dart players had a couple of 1st place finishes in the annual tournament. Scott Rick, Amanda Anderson, and Rick Anderson (all Original Doc’s Landing league players) won 1st place in the Mixed Triples satellite event. Out of the Blainbrook Bowl dart league, Eric Gerth and Bob Haft won 1st place in the Level 2 division of the 501 Doubles event.
Drac’s Ed (pictured) won 1st place in Level 2 Cricket Team. Team members, who play in a dart league at Drkula’s, include Ed Christensen, Joe Jeske, Marty Lynch, and Ben Whipple. Another Drkula’s team, Drac’s Crew, came in 2nd place for Level 5 501 Team event. Team members include Tim Bomstad, Chris Gibson, Tim Jacovitch, Ron Ochs, and Dave Stanley. Other AAA players who placed in the tournament play in leagues out of Shooters, Hoggsbreath Bar, Park Tavern, and Hat Trick Lounge.
MOMA Donations
At the tournament, MOMA raised money for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, Zucker Family Suite at Masonic Children’s Hospital at the U of M, and the MOMA Scholarship Fund. A select number of college-bound students with industry ties are awarded scholarships each year.
2020 Tournament
The 2020 MOMA State Dart Tournament will bid good-bye to Canterbury Park and say hello to Rochester, Minnesota. Details will be available on the MOMA site soon.
